Every 2nd Sunday @ 10:00 AM
If you've been attending The Highlands and are ready to connect through serving, this is how you do it! Servant Orientation is offered on the 2nd Sunday of the month and is a way for you to learn first hand about the many opportunities to serve in the life of this growing congregation.
Then, after orientation is over, you'll pick a Serve Team and serve alongside a seasoned Servant at the 11AM service. If it's a good fit, great! We'll get you on that team. If it's not, it’s OK! We'll have you try another team until you find the right fit.
Come Back Sunday
Every 4th Sunday @ 12:30 PM in the sanctuary
If you've worshiped with us a few times and questions have come up, here's your opportunity to meet Pastor Jamie and the staff and ask any questions you may have. No, seriously! You can ask ANYTHING! This is a non-scripted, you-control-the-pace, informal, brief get together that lasts roughly 30 miniutes. Join us EVERY 4th Sunday.
Coffee with the Pastor: Exploring Membership
Held quarterly on the 3rd Sunday of a month @ 5:00 PM
Membership does not mean paying dues or entitlement to religious “goods and services” Instead, membership (joining the church) means belong to a larger family.
How do you know if you’re ready to join? If you've been attending The Highlands for longer than three months how would you answer the following statements?
If you said, “Yes” to those questions then we want to extend an invitation for you to learn more about what it means to be a part of this growing church family.
At Coffee with the Pastor, you will be presented with all that you need to know in order make this important decision. You will learn about our mission and vision, membership expectations, the history of THUMC, and overview of what United Methodists believe, how we’re structured as a congregation, and how we work to live out our Christian beliefs.

Held as often as those express their desire to join the church
If you have been baptized previously, you will choose a worship service in which to accept the vows of membership (download a copy here). This can be done on the second or fourth Sunday of the month with a group of other new members in your choice of worship services.
Baptism in any Christian denomination is required for membership. If you have never been baptized, we will arrange this with you personally. Please email Pastor Jamie to discuss adult baptism. You may also “transfer your membership” from another United Methodist church or another denomination. If you have never joined a church then you may join by means of “professing your faith” in Jesus Christ. However you become part of our family, we will love, support, and encourage you as a follower of Jesus.
